***Dynamo Productions is the fusion of beat junkies Andy
Smith and Scott Hendy. Andy Smith is better known as Portishead's DJ and Scott
Hendy as Boca 45. As Dynamo Productions they create organic funk and breaks.
Their debut album 'Analogue' was an album of the week on Triple J, 'Get It Together'
features remixes of 'Analogue' tracks from international producers, as well
as new tracks from the duo.
Dynamo Productions Australian tour in August 2004 was a huge sucess, shows selling
out in most states.***
Dynamo Productions have produced some of the most organic funk and breaks
based tunes to emerge for ages. Andy Smith (Portishead tour DJ) and Scott
Hendy (Boca 45) are the brains behind the DJ and production crew. They've
been in love with all things hip-hop for as long as they can remember and it
shows. As a kid growing up, Andy used to make homemade aerials out of flex to
catch the hazy sounds of pirate radio stations that were broadcasting reggae,
hip-hop and soul. When the hip-hop scene blew up, Andy had to start cutting
up records on a pair of Disco decks and Scott became (and remains) partial to
what he calls "a bit of my crap breaking".

BIO:
'Get It Together' Dynamo Productions' remix album - features
remixes by a host of international producers Krafty Kuts, Katalyst,
The Jimi Entley Sound (Produced by Portishead), Hundred Strong,
One Cut, and Fort Knox Five (USA) and more.
Following the success of the initial album, 'Analogue', Dynamo has followed
up with an equally exciting remix album. Also features new tracks from
Dynamo Productions.
Before joining forces to create Dynamo Productions they were individually pursuing
their passion for all things 'funky': Andy made his name playing eclectic sets
before Portishead's live shows during their 1995 and 1998 world tours, mixing
GangStarr with Gainsbourg. Then following Andy's much-bootlegged sessions
on BBC1's Essential Mix and Boston's WFNX radio station, he released
his DJ mix album 'The Document' (Go Beat/London) in 1998, which sold
more than 100,000 copies. And following the success of number one- 'The Document
II' followed in 2003.
Meanwhile Scott was rising through the ranks touring with Bristol band Purple
Penguin and DJing with John Stapleton (Dope on Plastic). Under the
Boca 45 name Scott has produced tracks on Hombre Records, Superslick
Stereo Sounds and Illicit.
| Scott and Andy teamed up in 2000 to form Dynamo Productions - establishing
their sound with a string of releases and more packed club and festival
appearances than you can shake a stick at. Their debut EP 'Showtime Volume
I' received critical acclaim and hit number 4 in DJ magazines respected
'Breaks and Beats' chart in 2001. They went on to release 'Showtime Volume
II', a 12" on Unique Records Germany and a 45 on Freddie Fresh's
label, Howlin' Records. Dynamo Productions have also had tracks licensed
to Deadly Avenger's Fabric Live CD, The Battle of The Year LP (DefJam Europe)
and the Unique Club Culture LP (Unique). Showtime Volume III is out
this year. |

Andy and Scott play music they like, and they like a wide variety - drawing
inspiration from a list of people that's as long as your arm and then some.
When it comes to what's in their personal record collections and what they play
in clubs, there's very little difference.
Since we last saw them in Australia in 2003, Dynamo have toured extensively
- the USA, and Europe playing with Europe's most respected and influential funk,
soul and breaks DJs such as Krafty Kuts. Their last Australian tour was a huge
success - the Invada Records "Analogue" tour in 2003 with Katalyst
was a national sell out. Dynamo Productions featured on the "Vibes on a
Summers Day" national tour, supporting Groove Armada Australia-wide.
Andy has recently released Volume 2 of "The Document" which has received
universal acclaim from hip-hop heads, funkateers, and electronic music fans
across the board. Andy has recently started a weekly soul night at the Jazz
Café London. Scott Hendy aka Boca 45 has a new album signed to Invada
Records and Grand Central (UK).
